According
to the Indian school of thought a persons education gets completed
only when he ventures into the field of instruction or teaching.
Adhyapana the word corresponding to Teaching has a completely new
dimension to it. Adhyapana endows a person with a much deeper understanding
of the Sastra or science by the constant interaction with the students
it also gives him a chance to hone his skills in communication which
has a deeper dimension in the Indian system of philosophy. Dakshina
moorthy the divine representation of the Guru bhava or the aspect
of teaching is represented as a person who communicates through
silence.Indian systems have long recognized that words are inefficient
mediums of communication. Often the very life of the guru would
function as the syllabus of learning as ones life is nothing but
the tangible expression of one’s learning and wisdom. This
was why in India one had to constantly live with the guru during
the whole course of learning. |
